1. Your staff will be safe
Some of your employees may need specialist workwear in order to carry out their responsibilities safely. By providing this, you can rest easy knowing your staff are able to perform their duties without fearing or receiving an injury.
Top tip… Speak to your staff. They’re the ones who perform the job every day, so they’re better placed than anyone to tell you what they need to be safe. Also, make sure you know the legal requirements for workwear in those specific roles.
2. You’ll be legally protected
As with point 1, if your staff need specific workwear, you need to provide it. While they’re safety will be your foremost concern, as an employer you have a responsibility to meet industry standards and requirements and, in doing so, you ensure that if the worst should happen and your staff are injured you won’t be faced with accusations of negligence with regards to what they were given to wear.
Top tip… Do your research. Know your industry inside-out and know the job requirements inside-out. Then ensure you meet them when ordering new workwear.
3. Productivity will increase
Staff that have the right workwear to perform their job, will undoubtedly be more productive. But so too will employees that look the part. Studies have shown that looking professional results in a professional performance, so having your employees where corporate clothing will have an impact on their level of focus on their job.
Top tip… Involve your staff in the choices you make. Give them the option between a few alternative colours or between a t-shirt and a polo shirt. If they’re happy with what they have, it’ll make them doubly as productive.
4. You’ll make a better first impression
Whenever your staff turn up on a job, they are the ones who make that important first impression on your clients – as well as anyone else who comes into contact with them – so how they look is vitally important. If they look professional and there’s a consistency across the entire team and your brand, then the impression they’ll make will also be professional.
Top tip… Think about your brand and what type of business you are. Allow this to inform your decisions, so that you choose colours and designs that accurately reflect who you are as a company.
5. It’s free advertising
As well as making a great first impression, you can take that one-step further by using your workwear to win new business. When wearing their corporate clothing, your employees are essentially walking advertisements for your business. This is an opportunity not to be missed.
Top tip… Include your logo, your website and your phone number. Work vans and lorries do these things and it helps raise awareness of who the business is and generates incoming work. Your workwear can do exactly the same.
